Volunteer

We are always looking to fill both short-term and long-term positions with people who possess the desire to make a difference in the lives of others.  We also collaborate with educational institutions to place field and practicum students within the organization.

Volunteers are one of the largest assets Lurana Shelter Society has and volunteers touch every part of our organization, from front line service delivery to governance, advocacy and even fundraising.  Whatever your interest is, we can find a way to use your skills.

Becoming a Lurana Shelter volunteer is a rewarding and engaging experience.  Volunteers need to be non-judgmental, compassionate, flexible and serious about their commitment.  Lurana Shelter Society implements a thorough volunteer screening process and a two part orientation and domestic violence training.  Individuals wishing to become volunteers require a clear police security clearance and youth intervention check.

Consider volunteering, and assist us in reaching out with compassion to empower and strengthen those who are most vulnerable.  For more information about volunteering or to obtain a volunteer application – please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected] or (780) 422-7263.
